The Annual Survey of Hours and Earnings (ASHE) has been published and provides the following headline data:
  • Median annual pay is £25,816 - a rise of 2.6% year on year.
  • Median weekly pay is £488.70 - a rise of 2.0%.
  • Median hourly pay (excluding overtime) £12.34 a rise of 3.9%.
  • Men’s median hourly pay (excluding overtime) is £12.97 - a rise of 3.8%.
  • Women’s median hourly pay (excluding overtime) is £12.34 - a rise of 4.4%.
These figures indicate a narrowing of the gender pay gap to 22% overall but in the private sector it rose to 28.8%.
