UK economy emerges from recession

You have no doubt heard in the news over the past few weeks that the UK economy has come out of recession; figures showed it had grown by a weaker-than-expected 0.1% in the last three months of 2009. As a result, the Bank of England will keep interest rates on hold at 0.5%, at least until there is some evidence of the recovery gathering pace.
