Ministers are considering extending the right to request flexible working to all employees from the start of their employment in an attempt to dramatically change working habits. Under the current rules only parents of children under the age of 16 and carers have the right to ask for flexible working hours, but the Government is hoping to extend this right to all employees in order to bring about a change in the UK's working patterns.
